In a recent championship meet, the Cheshire Academy swim team saw many personal best times—and six school records—shattered. Freshman Matt Molnar broke his own records in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, winning both events with times of 1:58.95 and 1:01.79, while senior Emma Gawronski finished in 4th place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.45, and won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:16.11-- breaking the school records in both.
Gawronski comments, “After nearly five years of barely improving my times, having this breakthrough was one of the best feelings ever. I could not have done it without my team. I hope I can return to CA years from now and still see our names on the record board.”
Cheshire Academy Athletic Director, Brett Torrey, see's incredible things ahead for CA's swim team. “The team’s future looks bright with some very strong underclassmen returning for next year. It's a very exciting time to be a part of Coach Repass' swim program here at CA.”
