Reason #90: Theater and The Varsity Players

The Varsity Players & Black Box Theatre Productions!

No, we're not talking about the burly varsity players that rule the Cheshire Academy, we take drama to the ultimate level, too! With past performances such as Little Shop of HorrorsThe Laramie Project, and The Philadelphia Story, we also save room for creative innovation and improvisation: This spring, our players have created an original theater piece unlike any that’s been seen in the Black Box Theatre before! The play, entitled “It’s Not Me, It’s You,” combines live improvisation with scripted scenes and monologues as well as short films (featuring unsuspecting members of the student body!) set to music. Written by students in Mrs. Chenot’s Performance Class (Mike Chen ’13, Hannah Cohen-Lawlor ’13, Patrick Sexton ’13, and Jade Sharkany ’14) you won't want to miss this completely original production--so come see the show on April 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. in the Black Box! Admission is free — no reservations necessary.

P.S. Did we mention that Chicago is this year's spring musical? Yeah. You might not want to miss that, either...
