Third Annual #ISGivingTuesday Chat!

As the fall weather settles in and folks start thinking about the holidays that follow, all of us here at Cheshire Academy want to remind our fellow schools about the third annual #ISGivingTuesday chat on November 29.

Coming just a couple weeks after National Philanthropy Day, this online discussion takes place as part of the nationwide #GivingTuesday efforts, when nonprofit organizations are encouraging communities to engage in a day of giving back to charities. Independent schools have been getting involved with these fundraising efforts, too, and our goal is to take #GivingTuesday a step further and talk about all the philanthropic efforts that take place at our schools, not just fundraising activities.

We find the #foodbank collections to be so powerful for our school and the impact to be great for our community. #giveback #ISGivingTuesday

The Twitter chat will take place using the hashtag #ISGivingTuesday on November 29, 2016, from 1:00-2:00pm EST. Register online here, and we’ll send you reminders of the chat before it happens so you don’t miss out. If you’re not able to join us for the scheduled hour, please chime in later and share your thoughts, innovative ideas, and suggestions on how schools can get involved. Be sure to use #ISGivingTuesday!

The Strategic Marketing & Communications Team at Cheshire Academy is excited to see this endeavor grow annually. As we have done the last two years, we invite all independent schools to join us in sharing how schools give back. However, to make this year’s chat even more impactful, we’re extending the invitation to all schools, organizations that work with schools, consultants, and even higher education institutions to participate in sharing the ways in which we give back to our communities.

Our goal is to enable and empower faculty, students, families, alumni, and the entire independent school community to join in and promote giving. Participants in the chat can share what their schools and organizations have done to give back and showcase the efforts of students, families, alumni, and communities as well.

If you’re interested in learning more about #GivingTuesday in general, visit www.givingtuesday.org. We hope that schools, organizations, and their communities will join our conversation around giving to help support the overall #GivingTuesday cause. If you have any questions about the Twitter conversations or how to participate, please tweet us @CheshireAcademy or email communications@cheshireacademy.org.
